Larry O'Brien's cup is coming home for the seventeenth time with the Los Angeles Lakers. For the most NBA titles in history, the Lakers have now joined the Boston Celtics.
This is one of the many Lakers stories that come with this championship and what makes it so special.
Jeanie Buss took ownership of the Lakers in 2017 and has since become the first female to win an NBA championship as the owner and controlling governor of the franchise.

The Lakers could not be champions right now without the primary acquisitions of veterans such as Rajon Rondo and Dwight Howard. After having played for four other teams in the league over the past few years, Rondo and Howard both found their part in the Lakers. These two veterans have contributed to their hall of fame calibre resume with this ring.
With the two most historic franchises in the league, the Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics, Rondo is the first player to win a championship. Rondo tallied 105 assists off the bench, the most by any bench player since 1970-71 in the playoffs.
With three defensive players of the year awards, Dwight Howard, an 8x All-Star and All NBA, can now add NBA champion to his resume. Howard left for Houston after a one-year tenure with the Lakers in 2013 and tweeted, "I hope I get a chance to make it up to you!" Thank you, LA." It's safe to say that Howard has redeemed himself."

Star forward Anthony Davis has silenced many critics who have said he can't succeed on the biggest stage in his first season with the Lakers. In 21 postseason games, Davis averaged 27.7 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 3.5 assists.
Davis is also just the sixth player to win both the NBA and NCAA titles; Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Isiah Thomas, and Bill Russell are the others to do so. Davis already has a Gold Medal from the 2012 Olympics at the age of 27.

In 2018, and after missing the playoffs in his first season with the Lakers in 2019, LeBron James signed a four-year contract with the Lakers. James wrote, "I promise Laker Nation that the spell will not last much longer!" on his Instagram. I'm cursing. The marathon is already going on.'

His pledge was kept by James. He regained his throne the next year. James is also the first player with his fourth NBA title to have three Finals MVP's with three different organizations.
James mentioned general manager Rob Pelinka, Coach Frank Vogel, Laker Nation, the fans, and himself after the game during the trophy presentation as wanting to be paid their appreciation after Pelinka finished seventh for NBA executive of the year, Vogel was not a coach of the year finalist, and James finished second in the regular-season MVP race.
This season felt remarkable as if the Lakers were meant to win it for Kobe Bryant, the legend of the Lakers. The Lakers are beginning this decade the way they have the last two, as NBA champions, in what has been a historic year.

Last Tuesday, LeBron James of the NBA created quite a scene and infuriated millions as he violently walked away from the court while celebrating our anthem. This was his 'protest,' it seems, following the stage of disrespect that started with the NFL kneeling.

James is stepping things up even more now. Yesterday, Joseph Barron, Esq., a James professional, hand-delivered a letter to the NBA offices reminding them of the intention of his client to complete his basketball career if the anthem were to compete again and again in his presence. Below is the text of the submission, written by LeBron himself:

Dear NBA, Dear NBA,

AN insult to people of color throughout America is the Star Adorned Flag. It is highly insulting to own it to compete before the games of this league's ever-glorious best player, Pine Tree State. It revealed that you simply have no regard for your star. And then, I've got you altruistically in dire straits.
Once again, I demand that this ne'er HAPPEN.
Owe me to you. I've saved the league and I'm going to take it down. My departure at present will devastate earnings until there is no one on the verge of| on the point of} equaling Pine Tree State ready to take my place. Once again if I hear the poor tune, I'm done. I'll be willing to leave the NBA for good. No sports, no work, no commentary. I'm going to be able to be history, and I'm going to take all the fans that I've brought in with Pine Tree State.
It's either an album or the State Pine Tree.
SELECT.
Respectfully, respectfully,
LeBron James Earnest
There is no question in the United States that the departure of James will impact the league, but he thinks far too highly of himself. Many fans of basketball don't bring traitors back on the banner. Only go for LeBron. The NBA is going to be happier if you don't.
